About Us
Mr. Judson Bradway established Bloomfield Village in 1924 as a nonpolitical entity within Bloomfield Township in Oakland County. Bloomfield Village covers an area of approximately one square mile from Quarton Road on the north to Maple Road on the south and from Lahser Road on the west to the City of Birmingham on the east. There are nearly 1,000 homes in the Village.

Bloomfield Village is primarily residential with some of the finest homes, schools and public services in the Oakland County area.

12 Great Reasons to Live in Bloomfield Village!
  1. A welcoming community with active groups like Bloomfield Village Social Club and the Village Garden Club.
  2. Lower real estate taxes than the City of Birmingham.
  3. The award winning Birmingham School District.
  4. Professionally managed Bloomfield Village Association oversees community affairs. Village Bulletin published quarterly to keep residents apprised of issues affecting their community.
  5. Deed restriction and architectural guidelines that maintain and enhance the character and harmony of homes.
  6. A community of traditional homes distinguished by the exceptional use of architectural details with appropriate scale, balance and proportion. Houses utilize rear entrance garages so attached garages look like part of the house - eliminating the appearance of garage doors.
  7. Home settings on large lots distinguished by open lawns and the use of plantings for privacy.
  8. Bloomfield Village’s own Police provide dedicated service to the residents and Volunteer Fire department supplementing Bloomfield Township Fire.
  9. Sidewalks that follow virtually all the curving tree lined streets making for a charming, quaint, and beautiful neighborhood that can be enjoyed safely by children as well as adults.
  10. Village Knoll Shopping Center providing convenient grocery shopping, restaurant, coffee shop, bakery, banking, gas station and other needs.
  11. Outstanding Bloomfield Township municipal services.
  12. Convenient to and within walking distance of downtown Birmingham.

There are many more. We struggled to limit this to 12.
